The Covid-19 pandemic has seen many changes to society in general. The need for social distancing and more rigorous hygiene measures has changed the way in which optometry is practised.
Now we are allowed to stay open there are significant changes to the patient journey within the practice and infection control measures taken to ensure the safety of patients, staff and practioners alike.
The wearing of face masks in the practices by patients is no longer a legal requirement.
However, the practices have stocks of face masks should a patient require one.
PPE worn by members of staff may include a mask, face visor, gloves and apron.
